Izabal Agro-Forest
IAF is a private company in operation since 2014 that provides advisory, project development and property management services in the areas of climate-smart agroforestry, regenerative farm and forest systems, plantation forestry, and landscape restoration. Many projects combine various of these elements and seek to balance the generation of both natural and financial capital. Projects are developed to be financially viable, delivering a return targeted to each investor’s mandate. IAF’s geographic focus is Guatemala. Its partners have extensive experience throughout Central and South America and have worked with a diversity of institutional and other private investors.
Izabal Wood Company
IWC focuses on avoiding deforestation in the first place and reversing the degradation of existing forests. It does so by producing income for private forest owners to guarantee the integrity and health of their forests. The company partners with landowners to sustainably manage their forestland, utilizing cutting-edge silvicultural practices and technologies to ensure that harvests are low impact and timber is fully traceable. The company has adopted bylaws mandating the certification of the forests it manages, providing accountability to its shareholders and customers.
IWC uses high quality equipment to mill, dry and machine products for use in fine furniture, flooring and heavy construction.
